When Enough Is Everything

I don’t think we truly consider the underrated blessing of daily bread. God is so good that He sustains us every single day. Not only does He sustain us, but also the animals and the world around us. We can get caught up in wanting more and seeking surplus, but daily sustainment from God is a blessing in itself. I am not saying He wants us to live hand to mouth, but I am saying He is faithful every day and supplies every need, physically and spiritually. He sustains our mind and our whole being. I think about times when the enemy wanted me to break so badly, yet by God’s grace, I bent but never broke. He spiritually sustained me in dry places and refreshed me with His Word and the Holy Spirit. Daily bread keeps us dependent on Him.

“What is the value of your soul to God? Could your worth be defined by any amount of money? God doesn’t abandon or forget even the small sparrow he has made. How then could he forget or abandon you? What about the seemingly minor issues of your life? Do they matter to God? Of course they do! So you never need to worry, for you are more valuable to God than anything else in this world.”

Luke 12:6-7 TPT

I think of it beyond material provision. You could have everything in the world, yet face a health issue that money cannot fix, and still His daily bread would sustain you to go to the doctor, receive tests, and complete treatment. For the college student dealing with academic troubles, money won’t solve it, but God can sustain you through each class and each test. For the single parent, even when finances are in order, there can be a deep ache for more, more for your child, more emotional availability, a stronger support system, or even healing from regrets about how life unfolded. God’s daily bread can sustain you through each day and each moment. We have to fix our eyes on the Father and trust that if He sustains the world around us, He will surely care for us too. Not only does He provide daily bread, but He cares for you, considers you, thinks about you, and loves you. That is the true blessing every day.
