Lost Signal, Same Location

Hey y’all, today I’m a bit under the weather, but even in that, there’s a word. I was thinking about how my body has been feeling. Have you ever been sick and felt those chills, even when it’s hot outside? You take a hot bath, but you’re still cold. You crawl under the blanket, and yet the chill lingers. That’s how I started thinking about what it feels like to grieve the Holy Spirit. This is for everybody, especially my people who are always asking God for a sign. First of all, the very act of you asking for a sign is already the sign. And what many people don’t talk about is the deep discomfort that doesn’t go away, those heavy emotions that linger no matter how many coping skills you try to apply. That kind of sadness, anger, and irritability keeps rising up, again and again. Sometimes we mislabel grieving the Holy Spirit and call it anxiety, worry, fear, depression, or something else, but sometimes the truth is, we are simply not in alignment with where we’re supposed to be in Christ. Think about the “Find My” feature on Apple; it can pinpoint exactly where your device is, even play a sound to help you locate it. That’s the leading of the Holy Spirit. That’s God saying, “Where are you, my child?” I pray that we would heed the Holy Spirit, stop constantly seeking external signs, and instead grow confident in recognizing how God speaks, even through complex emotions like spiritual grief, so we can find our way back to the Father.

“Then Yahweh -God called Adam’s name and asked, “Where are you?”

Genesis 3:9 TPT

Be blessed and be a blessing.
