Okay, so let’s talk about faith and fear. The taboo combination, I know. I think, however, we should challenge our current framework and expand it a little bit. So..follow me. Oftentimes, when we hear faith and fear, it is often stated in a way that says if you have fear, you don’t have faith (or something to this effect). I do not believe that to be true. Put the tomatoes down and do not boo me off of the stage yet. I believe that faith and fear can coexist; however, faith must be the only thing in action. You can take a leap of faith and still feel the emotions of fear. We are human; this is a natural response. Just because you take a leap of faith and as you are doing that you feel fear does not mean that something is wrong with you, it does not mean you don’t have enough faith, it doesn’t even mean you are making the wrong decision. If you are met with a decision, opportunity, and everything in between that requires you to move in faith, know that there will be fear, and sometimes fear masks itself as hesitation or procrastination. You have to just move, because fear will have you questioning what you already know and it will leave you paralyzed. I would rather take a leap of faith and getting to the other side, than allow something (within or outside of me) to die because I did not trust God and going where He wants to take me. Even in the most unorthodox circumstances, choose faith over fear. It is okay to feel afraid, it is not okay to make decisions based upon fear. This is why discernment is so crucial because it is one thing to feel hesitancy and to understand if it is the time to move and understanding what move to make, but it is another to not make a decision (or choose comfort) because the decision or opportunity scares you because of the magnitude or what it will require of you. So, if you are met with circumstances such as moving to a new state, starting over in any capacity, new career, new relationship, business venture, taking a paycut for better quality of life, or any other endless possibility…choose faith. I pray that you would be strong and courageous. I pray that you would not listen to the lie of the enemy that tells you this will end in failure. Hear me when I say, this time will not be like the last. You will succeed. You will win. You will grow. You will not look the same. You won’t even feel the same. Go and grow.
