Grace That Keeps Us Standing

I’m grateful for His grace. I think about how loving and kind God has been to me, and I am in a place of awe and reverence. I have had moments in my life when I didn’t know how I would be delivered to safety, but God’s grace kept me and covered me. There has not been a time in my life when I have experienced His grace to this magnitude. I used to think I could only receive His grace and love if I were on the straight and narrow. I was conditioned to believe by religious institutions and religious people that God would only provide grace and love as a result of my works. Whether it was fasting, serving in a local church, or tithing, I truly believed that to experience God, I had to have it all figured out. Yet in the striving, I became more burned out, resentful, and ultimately rebellious.

I am now free from that false belief system. I am grateful for each day I receive, living each day to the fullest, knowing we don’t know when it will be the last. So today, I simply take a moment to say thank you, God, for your loving kindness that you shower upon my life and the grace you have given me. May we have eyes to see how God kept us even in our mess. How He kept us when life tried to take us out. How He kept us in our right mind. How He kept us from the unseen dangers. How He kept us from things that hindered our growth. How He kept us standing strong in Him even when we are tired, worn out, or burned out, yet somehow we find strength to go another day. That is His grace showered upon us daily.

“Then he said to me, ‘This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.’”
‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Not by our might, not by our power, but by His Spirit we can do what He is calling us to do. May we acknowledge that our strength comes from Him and that there is power released from His grace over our lives. Be blessed and be a blessing.
