I’m grateful to have made it to see another day, and I pray you feel the same. We’re halfway through the week and one day closer to August, so let’s get into it. The solution to handling your life problems is not by looking over the fence into someone else’s yard. Comparison will drain you. You were graced to carry what’s on your plate, not theirs, not your neighbor’s, not the people online posting the highlight reel. Like Edgar Allan Poe said, “Believe nothing you hear, and only one half that you see.” You really never know what someone is battling underneath the surface. That’s how we assume celebrities have life figured out just because they have fame or money, yet they’re battling depression, anxiety, addiction; using vices to cope with what money can’t fix: a lack of peace. Everyone has their own battles, their own weight to carry. So don’t tear yourself down if your hands feel heavy. Especially when you’re doing the best you can with the limited resources you have. Extend some grace to yourself. Be kind. You are not weak because it feels heavy.
“I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.”
Philippians 4:12-13 TPT
And most importantly, don’t carry that weight in your own strength. When I get to a place where life feels unbearable whether it’s confusion, lack, sadness, or just feeling everything all at once, I cry out to God. Sometimes I have words, and sometimes it’s just a broken “Help me, Lord.” Sometimes it’s only tears. But I always say, “Lord, I’m coming to you broken and weak, but help me stand back up with Your strength.” You may be stretched, but you are not crushed. Let this be the season where your faith, patience, surrender, and full dependence on God grow deeper. You do have the grace to carry what’s before you, and by God’s power, it will not destroy you.
