The Door Has Closed, Walk Forward

Sunday, a weekly refresh. Can we just pause for a moment and realize we’re only days away from August? May this new month be even better than July, full of blessings and the promises you’ve been waiting for finally coming to pass. So let’s get into it. I have a question for you, or maybe it’s one to ask yourself: Where do we go from here? Now that we’ve surrendered. Now that we’re starting over. Now that we’re committed to truly healing. Where do we go from here? We go back to the beginning. And beginnings can feel heavy because they mark the end of what we’ve known. The places we made our homes out of comfort: anger as a go-to, people-pleasing to keep the peace, self-doubt, harsh inner talk, settling in relationships, romantic or platonic, working jobs that drain us, or simply giving up in certain areas. As strange as it sounds, even dysfunction can feel safe when it’s familiar. So when we choose to begin again, to break cycles and embrace change, it takes real courage. Give yourself credit for that.

‘“Stop dwelling on the past. Don’t even remember these former things. I am doing something brand new, something unheard of . Even now it sprouts and grows and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing streams in the desert.’

Isaiah 43:18-19 TPT

Today, we hold our heads high and take just one step forward. Maybe we buy the journal. Maybe we start the routine. We move our bodies, carve out space for God in prayer and worship, sign up for therapy, or take time to renew our minds. Not everything all at once, but the key is that we begin. We let go of anxiety, break up with fear, and take hold of faith, faith that with God, all things are working together for our good. The key to opening the next door is refusing to keep reaching for the one He already closed. Grieve if you must, but don’t linger there. Keep moving. First steps will feel shaky. You may question yourself. But just like a child learning to walk, even if you fall, you will rise again. Here’s to a fresh week and a fresh start.

“When Yahweh delights in how you live your life, he establishes your every step. If they stumble badly they will still survive, for the Lord lifts them up with his hands. I was once inexperienced, but now I’m old. Not once have I found a lover of God forsaken by him, nor have any of their children gone hungry. Instead, I’ve found the godly ones to be the generous ones who give freely to others. Their children are blessed and become a blessing.”

Psalms 37:23-26 TPT

Remain encouraged, friend. Be blessed and a blessing.
