Today is a good day because I said so. Period. Let’s get into it. Have you ever been in a season where every day feels like Groundhog Day? Same struggles, same discouragement, same disappointments, like nothing you do is making a difference. It’s hard to believe there’s anything beyond what you’re walking through. But let me remind you: your current circumstances are not your final destination. I don’t care if it’s eviction, job loss, broken relationships, poor credit, or health struggles; there’s beauty and opportunity on the other side of this, even if you can’t see it yet.
I know what it feels like to believe there’s no way out. I’ve been in that space where I couldn’t see past what was right in front of me and assumed this was all life had to offer. But then God whispered, look again. I went back to the drawing board, not because I had it all figured out, but because I was desperate for change. As I started to ask myself what I truly wanted out of life, new options showed up. But they weren’t easy. It required scary faith, the kind that made people doubt me, question if I really heard from God, and push back on my decision. But here’s what I learned: it’s not about making the “right” decision. When it comes to faith, God will make your decision right.
So I want to challenge you to sit down and ask yourself: What if there’s more than what I’m currently seeing? What would I do if fear wasn’t in the way? What have I stopped believing God can do? You’re not stuck. You’re not finished. You’re being invited to see your life differently. This may feel like a dead end, but it might actually be a turning point. Try again. Believe again. Look again.
In John 21:5-6, Jesus tells Peter and a few of the disciples to throw their net on the other side of the boat, even though they had been fishing all night and caught nothing. I’m sure they were tired, frustrated, and doubtful. But even in that state, they obeyed and tried again. And this time, their net was so full of fish they could barely pull it in. That’s the power of trying again with God. My encouragement to you is this: look again, hope again, try again. This time will be different, not because of your strength or effort, but because your hope is in God and not in your circumstances. Don’t let fear write your next chapter. Surrender the outcome, and trust that if God is leading it, He will also sustain it.
“Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some. ” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.”
